class of 2009

Ashley Bachmann
BS - Marketing Graduate (May 2009)




Ashley graduated from Kelly in May 2009. She majored in Marketing and minored in Journalism. Today she is a marketing assistant at The Scotts-Miracle-Gro Company handling their Major League Baseball Program.  During the 2008 summer, she was a Bloomington Brands undergraduate intern.  She continued as a member of the Osmocote team for the 2008-2009 school year.

During her summer at Brands, Ashley’s projects involved analyzing data to determine the success of web based advertising as well as creating sell sheets for the Scott’s sales force. She also contributed to the development of a marketing launch plan for a new product to be released FY 2009, assisted in creation of multiple blog features for plantersplace.com, and managed a sampling promotional program that supplies garden clubs nationwide with free samples.

On campus, Ashley had many role.  She was the Family Relations Chair for her sorority, Gamma Phi Bet.  She also was a Dance Group Representative for Indiana University Dance Marathon, and a mentor for College Mentors for Kids. She also was active in the Undergraduate Marketing Club and worked the spring 2008 semester as a teaching assistant for Kelley’s Introduction to Marketing class.

 Cassie Lau
BS - Marketing Graduate (May 2009)




Cassie graduated May 2009 from the Kelley School of Business with a major in Marketing and a minor in Telecommunications.  She interned at Bloomington Brands during the summer of 2008 and continued as an Associate Brand Manager for Osmocote during the 2008 – 2009 school year.  Currently, Cassie is the Marketing Graphics Coordinator at DeStefano Partners, an architecture firm in Chicao.

When at Brands, Cassie’s projects included creating a three page brand presentation for the Scotts 2009 Product Catalog, monitoring and analyzing a mail-in rebate program, assisting in the development of a new blog feature and interviewing and creating profiles for the bloggers to be used on Osmocote’s website, and participating in the design of a new product label being launched in FY09.

On Campus, Cassie was a member of the Marketing council for Circle of Life Foundation, a non-for-profit student run organization which puts on the Indiana University Mini-Marathon.  The proceeds from the race go towards a full-ride scholarship for cancer survivors at any Indiana University branch school (www.iumini.com).  She was also a member of the Undergraduate Marketing Club since and received scholarships for both the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 school years.

In addition to working for Bloomington Brands, Cassie taught figure skating at the Frank Southern Ice Arena.  She was an instructor there during her time at IU and taught both group and private lessons.  She was an instructor for the Indiana University Learn to Skate program which is a part of the HPER department.

Prior to Indiana University she graduated from Marian Catholic high school in Chicago Heights, IL in 2005.

 Kate Lehman
MBA - Marketing Graduate (May 2009)




Kate Lehman is a second-year marketing student in the Kelley School of Business MBA Program. Over the summer, Kate interned at Procter & Gamble as an assistant brand manager on Gain detergent.  She has accepted a full-time positon at P&G post graduation in May 2009.  

In addition to working at Bloomington Brands, Kate is a faculty-selected member of the Consumer Marketing Academy and a Forté Fellow recipient for academic and professional achievements.  Kate is President of the Kelley Association of Women MBAs and serves on the MBAA Presidential Council.  

Prior to coming to Kelley, Kate worked at Gap International, a management consulting firm outside Philadelphia.  In that role, she consulted both domestically and internationally in Spanish and English on over 50 consulting initiatives.  She also developed new business with the U.S. Federal Government and project managed a two-year strategy and growth initiative with Food Lion. 

Kate received a bachelor’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) and graduated with honors.  Kate is currently in Switzerland in a study-abroad program.

 Chad Krueger
MBA - Finance Graduate (May 2009)




Chad Krueger is a second-year finance student in the Kelley School of Business MBA Program. Over the 2008 summer, Chad interned at Target Corp. in Merchandise Finance.  Chad has accepted an offer of full-time employment at Target (Minneapolis) and will begin work there following graduation in May 2009.

In addition to working at Bloomington Brands, Chad is a faculty-selected member of the Corporate Finance Academy and a Dean’s Fellowship recipient for academic and professional achievements. Chad is active in the Kelley community as a co-chair of the Student Admissions Council and a member of the Curriculum Advisory Council.

Prior to coming to Kelley, Chad worked for Wells Fargo’s Insurance group in Minneapolis. In that role, he provided financial analysis for both the Direct Response and Credit Insurance divisions. Prior to working at Wells Fargo, Chad received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, majoring in Finance and Speech Communication.

 Andrew Peeples
MBA - Marketing Graduate (May 2009)

Andrew Peeples is a second-year marketing student in the Kelley School of Business MBA Program.  Andrew will graduate in May 2009.  He accepted an offer for full-time employment with Nationwise Insurance (Columbus, OH) and will begin work there in the summer of 2009.  

At Bloomington Brands, Andrew participated in conducting research for a planned restage of the Osmocote(r) brand, the development of the online advertising plan, updating the products page on PlantersPlace.com, developing mail-in rebate cards, and recruiting for 2009 student assistants.

Other activities at Kelley include the Kelley Marketing Club.  Andrew is also a peer-selected member of the Kelley Ambassador Program and was the faculty-selected recipient of the E.S. Eyster MBA Fellowship.

During the 2008 summer, Andrew interned at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in Marysville, OH.  At Scotts, Andrew worked as an Assistant Brand Manager on the Turf Builder fertilizer lines.  Prior to entering Kelley, Andrew was a consultant at VMG Consulting, LLC, in Chicago.

Andrew is currently in a study-abroad program in Singapore.

 Tatiana Quaife
MBA - Marketing Graduate (May 2009)

Tatiana Quaife is a second-year marketing student in the Kelley School of Business MBA Program. In the summer of 2008, Tatianal completed a summer Internship as an Associate Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble.  She has acceptedan offer of full-time employment at P&G and will begin her career there following graduation in May 2009.


Tatiana is a member of the Consumer Marketing Academy, Kelley Marketing Club and Kelley Association of Women MBAs. Tatiana is also the Vice President of Internal Affairs for the Kelley Latin MBA Association and the Chair of the Graduate Career Services Advisory Council.  Further, she is the recipient of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship and the Intel Corporation Minority Fellowship.


Prior to Kelley, Tatiana worked at Cummins Inc. in supply chain and new product introduction. While at Cummins, she traveled around the U.S., Brazil and Europe on business and held positions of increasing responsibility. She led cross-functional teams in negotiating contracts with global suppliers, developed long-term sourcing strategies and completed two Six Sigma projects in the process of receiving her Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Tatiana received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Indiana University, graduating with honors.

 Laurel Whall
MBA - Marketing Graduate (May 2009)

Laurel is a second-year MBA at Kelley.  She interned at Abbott Laboratories summer 2008 and will begin full-time employment there following graduation in May 2009.  She will be based in the Chicago area.

On campus, Laurel is a faculty-selected member of the Consumer Marketing Academy and is an active member of the Kelley Association of Women MBA’s, serving as chairperson of the KAWMBA Experience Weekend program. Laurel also holds a seat on the MBAA Professional Development Committee and will organize the Kelley Peer Coach program for first-years in the fall of ‘08. In addition, Laurel serves as a graduate assistant for the marketing department.

Laurel completed her year of service at Bloomington Brands in December 2008 but has generously agreed to continue working with the new Team to ensure that the transition is smooth and productive.


Prior to attending Kelley, Laurel worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Kraft Foods, in Glenview, Illinois. She has also worked in a variety of finance positions at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana and NAVTEQ in Chicago, Illinois.

Laurel received her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Miami University. Upon graduation from Kelley in May of 2009, Laurel intends to pursue a career in brand management.
