Carolyn Assarian is a second-year marketing student in the Kelley School of Business MBA Program. Carolyn’s projects at Bloomington Brands have included a packaging/label initiative, developing a competitive information sheet for the sales force, and overall brand strategy work.
In addition to working at Bloomington Brands, Carolyn is a member of the Consumer Marketing Academy, Kelley Marketing Club, and Net Impact; she is also the vice-president of external affairs for the Kelley Association of Women MBAs. In addition, she serves as a peer coach and second-year mentor.
Prior to coming to Kelley, Carolyn worked at Versacom Incorporated, a marketing communications firm, as a writer/editor. She developed integrated marketing communications programs for both corporate and not-for-profit clients, including brochures, catalogs, and other types of communications pieces. This past summer, Carolyn completed a brand marketing internship at the Kellogg Company.
Carolyn will join Target at Minneapolis in May 2008 .

Bryan is a second-year MBA at Kelley focusing on Finance and Accounting. In the summer of 2007, he worked as an Investment Banking Summer Associate at Piper Jaffray & Co. in NY, NY. Bryan will start full-time at Piper upon graduation in May 2008.
As the financial analyst at Bloomington Brands, Bryan is in charge of financial analyses of Osmocote brand marketing activities and the preparation & management of the annual budget. Bryan also executes the monthly and year-end close for the reporting of financial statements.
On campus, Bryan is a faculty-selected member of the Corporate Finance Academy and a Merit Fellowship recipient for academic and professional achievements. Bryan was also elected as the Vice President of the MBA Association, overseeing Treasury, Auditing, Compliance and the Dean’s Associate offices.
Prior to attending Kelley, Bryan worked as a Senior Risk Management Associate and Associate Engineer at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to relocating to Indianapolis, Bryan worked for IBM in the Research Triangle Park of NC, and Boulder, CO. Bryan received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, graduating with honors.

Jennifer is currently a senior at Kelley majoring in Marketing and minoring in Telecommunications. During the 2007 summer, she was a Bloomington Brands undergraduate intern and has continued on as a member of the Osmocote team for the 2007-2008 school year.
As a marketing associate this past summer, Jennifer’s projects included tracking and analyzing the test results for a new product, developing sell sheets sent to Scott’s sales force, monitoring a mail-in rebate program, interviewing influential gardeners then creating profiles that were featured on Osmocote’s website, and participating in the FY08 budget allocation.
On campus, Jennifer is the Marketing Vice President for Circle of Life a non-for-profit student organization which organized the 2nd annual Indiana University Mini-Marathon to be held on September 8, 2007. The proceeds from the race go towards an endowment that will fund full-ride scholarships to any Indiana University school for cancer survivors (iumini.com). She is also the Membership Executive for the Undergraduate Marketing Club. She has been involved in a number of volunteer activities in the Bloomington Community such as being a Club Big for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Jennifer will be graduating in May 2008. Prior to Kelley, she graduated from Columbia City High School in Columbia City, Indiana in 2004.

Jaime is completed a summer 2007 internship at Oscar Mayer (Kraft) in Madison, WI. She has accepted an offer to work full-time as an associate brand manager at OM beginning in May 2008.
Jamie Podhaizer graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.
Upon graduating, she worked in Public Relations and Marketing at Viva International Group, a leading designer, marketer and distributor of designer eyeglasses and sunglasses.
Jamie is currently a Consumer Marketing MBA student at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She will graduate May 2008 and intends to pursue a career in consumer packaged goods brand management.

Steven Throckmorton graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in December 2007. He worked as an Associate Brand Manager at Bloomington Brands, LLC in the summer and fall of 2007.
Steven’s projects at Bloomington Brands included analyzing a radio test market and preparing a report for management, formulating a defense plan to combat a direct competitor, and drafting sell sheets to provide support for the Osmocote sales force. Steve used his considerable PhotoShop skills to revise a product information guide and a product catalog, and assisted in drafting numerous product labels. Steve also managed the Osmocote garden club support program which supplies organizations across the country with free trial packs, brochures and mail-in rebates.
Steve wrapped up two majors in December, one in Business Marketing, and the other in Operations/Supply Chain Management. When not at Bloomington Brands or attending classes, Steve spent a large portion of time engrossed in physical activities ranging from being a member of the reigning champion IU intramural soccer team to being a member of the IU Hapkido/Martial Arts club.
Before starting at Bloomington Brands, Steve held a retail position working 30-35 hours a week to pay for his education. Steve started full-time employment as an analytst at Kohl's (Milwaukee, WI) in January 2008.

Bob is a second-year MBA at Kelley. Bob has accepted full-time associate brand management postion at Scotts Miracle-Gro effective May 2008.
As a marketing associate at Bloomington Brands, Bob’s projects in the Spring of 2007 included developing test concepts for a new Osmocote sub-brand, updating Osmocote.com and PlantersPlace.com, and producing a two-market radio test. Currently, Bob is developing a five year plan for the Osmocote(r) brand.
On campus, Bob is a faculty-selected member of the Consumer Marketing Academy and an active member of the Kelley Marketing Club, producing weekly content for the club newsletter. Bob also held a seat on the MBAA Professional Development Committee which organized the Kelley Intern 101 program for first-years in May of ’07. Bob’s additional on-campus involvement includes the Entrepreneurship Club.
In the summer of 2007, he worked as a Brand Management Intern at Nestle Purina Pet Care Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
Prior to attending Kelley, Bob worked as a writer for WilliamsRandall Marketing Communications and The Heavyweights, Inc., both in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bob received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DePauw University.
